In this page, I have listed some shops which sell skates and accessories.
I am NOT affiliated to any of the skate shops. I do NOT get commissions or benefits for recommending customers to them.
(Before you head down to the shops, please call the shops for the operational hours to avoid disappointment. Check their addresses in case they have moved.)
Here are some reputable brands which produce good skates
– K2
– Powerslide
– Flying Eagle
– Rollerblade
– Bladerunner
– Seba (If you are beginner, install a heelbrake.)
Hard boot skates are preferable as they give stronger support which prevent pronation and supination, especial for student who are big size. Not sure how to choose skates, read here.
In case the skate shops have moved, do call the shops to confirm the addresses.

However if you prefer to get cheap skates at those mega-stores, wear the skates and make sure they can hold the feet firmly and not bending to one side. Check the wheels can spin freely and the stopper is made of rubber, not plastic. Plastic stoppers don’t give good grip and traction against the ground.
